Decontamination of Anthraquinone Dyes Polluted Water Using Bioinspired Silica as a Sustainable Sorbent

چکیده
The increased release of harmful dyes in water, along with the continuous reduction world’s freshwater supplies has placed textile industry under greater pressure to safely and effectively treat wastewater effluents. Resistance reactive breakdown naturally highlighted need for specialised removal methods. growing low-cost, efficient sorbents led exploration bioinspired silicas (BIS) due their green synthesis, proven scalability, versatility chemical functionalisation required dye scavenging. Through a systematic approach, Reactive Blue 19 from water was studied using range BIS, compared commercial sorbent. While 0% denoted sorbent, BIS showed up 94% removal. results obtained kinetic study suggested pseudo-second-order reaction, indicating chemisorption process via electrostatic interactions. Examination effects various adsorption conditions (temperature, pH, sorbent concentrations) isotherm models (Langmuir Freundlich) indicated that both physical nature. mechanism suggest on spontaneous. higher capacity (334 mg g−1) literature examples, rapid acidic conditions, excellent thermal stability good reuse potential. These findings highlight potential as sustainable, low-cost could be brought forward future implementation.

Decontamination of Water Polluted with Phenol using Raphanus sativus Root
Plant materials have been found useful in decontamination of water polluted with phenolic compounds. The detoxification effect is due to peroxidases contained in plant tissue. Enzyme mediated oxidative coupling of phenol is followed by precipitation of the formed polymer and its removal from the aqueous phase. A synthetic wastewater buffered at pH = 7.4 containing 0.9 mM phenol was treated in t...

متن کاملAnthraquinone dyes for superhydrophobic cotton.
Water-repellent, self-cleaning and stain resistant textiles are of interest for industrial applications. Anthraquinone reactive dyes were covalently grafted onto cotton fabric surfaces obtaining bright colors with good wash-fastness properties and giving rise to breathable superhydrophobic textiles with self-cleaning properties.
متن کاملRemoval of Acid Dyes from Aqueous Solutions Using Orange Peel as a Sorbent Material
An agricultural by-product waste: orange peel was tested for the removal of four acid dyes from aqueous solutions in batch conditions. As results obtained, kinetics of dyes sorption was time of contact, initial dyes concentration and dyes type dependent. The pseudo second-order reaction rate model adequately described the kinetics of dyes sorption with high correlation coefficients. Langmuir mo...
